Two civil wars had devastating effects on the people of Sierra Leone and Liberia. Agricultural Missions began helping by distributing seeds, hand tools, and food to tide people over to the harvest. After two years, these communities had grown strong enough that they no longer needed our distributions.
For years, Agricultural Missions has utilized our “Train the Trainer” model, or the Training of Trainers (TOTs) program. This model reduces the costs of training and makes it more widely accessible to the communities we work in. When one person is taught, a whole community has the opportunity to learn.
