Today, we look into the story of Rebecca Sumo, one of the many beneficiaries of the Food Security Program from Liberia.
Rebecca testified to the transformative impacts of the program in her life and that of her family.
At the national levels, the food security status for both Liberia and Sierra Leone improved in 2025 compared to 2024. These are among the conclusion of The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO/UN) in its August 2025 report, indicating that:
“Liberia’s food security situation is improving compared to previous years, but hundreds of thousands of people still face crisis level food shortages and inflation-though moderated by regional standards-continue to erode purchasing power and keep food prices high.”
