Agricultural Missions, Inc. (AMI) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1930, dedicated to accompanying rural communities in their struggle for justice, dignity, and opportunity.
For nearly a century, AMI has worked alongside farmers, women, youth, and grassroots organizations, connecting Black farmers in the American South with rural communities in West Africa, Latin America, and beyond.
Through the West Africa Initiative, AMI partners with locally registered organizations in Sierra Leone and Liberia to advance youth agriculture, gender justice, and food sovereignty. The program has worked with 51 farmers’ groups across both countries, serving approximately 10,000 people since 2008.
